Stainless Steel Water Bottles and why you should use them!
Some facts on Stainless Steel Water Bottles. Yippee I hear you say? Yes well it is actually quite interesting - and you might learn something so stick around! STAINLESS STEEL WATER BOTTLESFirst off when you drink water out of a bottle - you are not just drinking water (even if it was pure to start with). The water combines with left overs from the last fill of the bottle and a little bit of the bottle itself.
This second thing is the important one. Sure you don't want to be drinking dirty water or water infested with goobers or disease, but what about the food grade plastic - surely that is safe?
Most plastics contain BPA a substance that many governments and organisations claim is safe - but some tests show otherwise. The testing done to show it was safe was funded by the companies who make the BPA plastic! So they had a very clear intent - to prove it was ok.
Sound familiar? We are surrounded by examples like asbestos, smoking etc where a company convinces everyone everything is safe with their product as they are trying to sell it.
the exact affect on our health is not known - but it seems likely that the toxic plastic & BPA that enters our body does quite a bit of harm in the long term.

At one extreme we have very cheap to buy products at the other very expensive (presumably) good quality items.
As is often the case, the cheapest extreme often costs you more in the long run, while the most expensive wastes money without any added benefit.
And so it is with stainless steel water bottles. At one end we have a huge range of cheap chinese stainless steel water bottles all of different sizes, shapes colours and branding. Most are made in similar factories and have very thin walls and imperfections in the internal walls. The lids may not seal, may contain toxins or crack after only a few months use.
At the other end there are brands like Kleen Kanteen = made in the USA and very high quality, but possibly over kill in price for not much benefit.
Around the middle of the road are the EcoTanka range. Made in China but with a much higher quality standard. The lids seal well and they do have great durability.

Stainless steel water bottles are well worth the money - they can be filled over and over. They do not have any after taste or seepage. They are easy to clean to ensure bacteria and harmful growths don't affect you.
